Assessing Electricity Designs in Lower Kapchorwa

18 May 2023

A dedicated team comprising the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (REREC), the Member of County Assembly (MCA), local leaders, administration representatives, and officers from my office embarked on a comprehensive tour of various areas in Lower Kapchorwa. The primary objective of this visit was to assess the electricity designs in the region and plan for the implementation of electrification projects.

We visited several locations, including Emitiot, Kaptebeswo, Kitechgaa, Kimwogi, Hillstar, and Cherobon. The focus of our assessment was on optimizing transformer placement, ensuring efficient transformer installation, and establishing appropriate wiring systems. By carefully evaluating these aspects, we aim to enhance the effectiveness and reliability of the electricity distribution network in these areas.

We were able to reach agreements on the necessary measures for transformer maximization, installation, and wiring. These decisions will pave the way for the smooth implementation of the electrification projects, bringing electricity to the communities in Lower Kapchorwa. We also discussed the upcoming metering installation phase. Starting from Monday next week, the metering installation will commence in the remaining areas of the constituency. This crucial step will ensure accurate monitoring of electricity consumption and enable efficient billing systems for residents.

By expanding access to electricity, we aim to improve the quality of life for residents, stimulate economic activities, and create opportunities for further development. Electrification plays a pivotal role in enhancing education, healthcare, communication, and overall productivity. Our collective goal is to bring lasting positive change to Lower Kapchorwa and uplift the lives of its residents.

Let us embrace this transformative journey as we strive to build a brighter and electrified future for our community.
