Coutersy call to inspector General of police -Japhet Koome
01 Aug 2023
During my courtesy call to Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome, we discussed the pressing issue of illicit alcohol in Nandihills Constituency. The menace of poisonous alcohol has devastating effects on the productive age group in our region, making it crucial to implement collaborative efforts between security teams, leadership, and the community.
Addressing this vice requires a departure from business as usual. We must work hand in hand to curb the spread of illicit alcohol, safeguarding the lives and well-being of our residents of Nandihills constituency. This will demand a comprehensive approach, incorporating intelligence-led operations, targeted law enforcement, and community engagement.
To effectively manage this challenge, we need to enhance our surveillance and investigative capabilities to identify the sources and networks involved in the distribution of toxic substances. It is essential to strengthen penalties for those involved in the illicit alcohol trade to deter potential offenders.
Equally important is fostering cooperation between the police force, local authorities, and community members. Community-based initiatives and public awareness campaigns can play a lateral role in identifying and reporting suspicious activities related to illegal alcohol.
By adopting a united front against this grave issue, we can create a safer environment for our residents, protecting them from the harmful effects of illicit alcohol and building a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous Nandihills Constituency.
Nandihills constituency, we must have a change.
