Development Conversation Recap: Progress Despite the Rain
The rains have finally subsided, bringing a renewed sense of hope and determination to our community's development projects. While the blessings of rain may have temporarily slowed us down, it's heartening to report that all pending projects are now back on track and moving forward with renewed vigor.
Today, we turn our attention to the Tereno community, nestled in the lower Kapchorwa region, and extend our gratitude for their patience and resilience. The Tereno-Litei Roads project is now underway, a crucial development that promises to unlock the massive economic potential of this community. Rest assured, this road will be constructed to the highest standards, ensuring safe and efficient travel for all.
I want to express my gratitude to the Tereno community for their active involvement in this project. The collaboration between the community and the on-site contractors, with clear deliverables and a dedicated community team, is truly commendable. Together, we will work tirelessly until we deliver a road that all of us can be proud of.
I recently had the privilege of speaking to an elderly member of our community who shared his hopes for a better road. I want to assure him and everyone in Tereno that we are committed to delivering a road that will make them walk proudly in their sunset years.
Our commitment doesn't end with road construction. We are closely monitoring the electrification of our dark villages, with power providers in the final stages of procuring transformers. Additionally, plans are in motion to bring piped water from Kipkurere Forest to cover the entire village, ensuring access to clean and safe drinking water.
We recognize the challenges faced by Tereno Primary, Tereno Secondary, and Emitiot Primary schools. We will be visiting soon to address these challenges collectively, aiming to uplift the academic future of this wonderful community.
Together, we are building a brighter future for Tereno, one project at a time. Our resilience in the face of adversity is a testament to our community's strength and unity. Let us continue to work hand in hand, knowing that every step forward brings us closer to realizing our dreams of a thriving and prosperous Tereno.
