Employment Opportunities in Qatar's Transportation Sector

17 May 2023

I wanted to update you on a successful trip I made to Qatar earlier this year. As you may recall from the Qatar Chronicles, I had numerous opportunities to export talent to work in Qatar. However, I encountered challenges with an agency, as there must be a sponsoring agency responsible for handling all the necessary paperwork both in Qatar and Kenya.

I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Ramadhan, the Kenyan who heads the transport section of the Qatari Government. Out of the 6,000 government drivers in Qatar, he has already assisted over 2,000 in obtaining employment within the Qatari Government. I had initially met him in Qatar, having been informed of his instrumental role in employing many Kenyan drivers there. I saw this as an opportunity to address the challenges faced by many young people in our community.
