Empowering Agriculture: A Day of Insight into Profitable Ventures
Recently, I had the privilege of joining forces with Lepesa Sacco, Lessos Farmers Cooperative, and county leadership for an enlightening field day dedicated to promoting potato farming. The gathering aimed to spotlight the immense profitability of this venture, encouraging local farmers to redirect their focus towards this lucrative crop.
Beyond potatoes, the event shed light on other high-value crops such as coffee, avocado, pyrethrum, and macadamia, all emerging as lucrative frontiers for agricultural success. The diversification of crops is seen as a strategic move to enhance farmers' incomes and elevate the economic landscape of the region.
The highlight of the day for me was deciding to become a member of Lepesa Sacco. This decision is rooted in the belief that Sacco is poised to become a major player in the cooperative sector, offering invaluable support and opportunities to its members.
