Nandihills on the Path to 100% Electricity Access
In a resolute commitment to transform the lives of the residents of Nandihills, I am embarking on an ambitious journey to provide nearly universal access to electricity within the constituency over the next five years. With a disentangled determination to leave no one in the dark, my recent discussions and meetings with key stakeholders in the energy sector have laid the foundation for this electrifying promise.
Last week's meetings with the Permanent Secretary for Energy and Petroleum, as well as the CEOs of Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) and the Rural Electrification and Renewable Energy Corporation (Rerec) including all the key officers in their HQs for this organization, served as a moment to discuss funding and distribution strategies. These organizations will play a vital role in ensuring electricity reaches every corner of Nandihills.
Today, in Eldoret, follow-up meetings with the Regional Manager for Rerec, Eng Jonah Kosgei, and Nandi County Rerec engineer Eng Keith, focused on the progress of pending projects and future programs. Encouragingly, secured funding promises a brighter future for Nandihills.
Subsequently, discussions with the Regional Manager for KPLC, Eng Mary Kirui, addressed various pending schemes, implementation plans, and the need for expediency. The commitment of these stakeholders ensures that Nandihills will experience rapid electrification with no delays.
Lack of electricity in homes is not only a hindrance but a denial of basic human dignity. Access to electricity is a catalyst for economic growth, and it is my solemn promise to vigorously address this issue.
I am determined to provide complete solutions, including meters, transformers, transformer maximizations, and street lighting, ensuring connectivity in every corner of the constituency. Nandihills is on the cusp of a brighter future, where the lights of progress will shine for all its residents.
