Road Rehabilitation and Street Lighting Initiatives Transform OTTI-Dispensary-Lessos Road
OTTI-Dispensary-Lessos Road, last repaired over a decade ago, recently underwent a significant transformation through heavy grading and murraming. The road had long been in need of attention due to the loamy nature of the soil, which made it susceptible to damage and erosion. Thanks to this rehabilitation effort, the community can now look forward to safer and more convenient travel.
In just two weeks, the community will witness another positive change with the launch of an extensive street lighting program. This program will not only cover the newly repaired OTTI-Dispensary Road but will also extend to OTTI to Quarry along the highway and OTTI to Cheptuingeny Road. This initiative is a boon for both safety and business in the area, as it will provide enhanced security for students and create a conducive environment for evening studies.
During this project, I had the privilege of engaging with the local community, allowing me to better understand their needs and concerns. I also visited Kapchumba-Keben dispensary, where I heard about concerns regarding the road construction. It's heartening to see that the contractor was responsive to these concerns and took corrective actions. This demonstrates that Nandihills is no longer willing to tolerate mediocrity when it comes to community development. The collaboration between the authorities and the local community is a promising sign for the region's future.
